Tamhini Ghat offers one of the most scenic drives from Pune, especially during the monsoon when the hills transform into a lush green paradise and waterfalls burst into life. The natural beauty is truly captivating and makes the journey worthwhile.
However, weekend visits can be quite challenging. The route becomes heavily congested, with vehicles often parked along the roadside, making it difficult for commuters to pass smoothly. Traffic congestion becomes a major issue, particularly during the monsoon season when the influx of visitors is at its peak.
While the views and overall experience of nature are excellent, it’s best to plan your trip on weekdays or start early in the morning to avoid the rush.

So beautiful view and it must be heaven in the rainy season. But it has no railing/ grill on the skirting. So one should be very careful , please don't go far especially when it's fog there.

Amazing beautiful views from here. The place has got some food & drinks stalls with seating area to admire the view. Beware of the angry monkeys and please don't litter the place. It's just very annoying to see a beautiful place and inconsiderate people have made it dirty with their rubbish 😡

Tamhini Ghat is a stunning destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Located near Pune, this picturesque mountain pass offers breathtaking views of lush green valleys, cascading waterfalls, and scenic landscapes. The drive through the winding roads is an experience in itself, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the natural beauty.
The area is perfect for a peaceful getaway, with several spots ideal for picnics and photography. The fresh air and serene environment make it an excellent place to unwind and connect with nature. It's also a popular spot for trekking and exploring the Western Ghats.
During my visit, I found the place to be relatively quiet and not overly crowded, which added to the tranquility. However, it's important to note that the beauty of Tamhini Ghat is just beginning to unfold. As the rainy season approaches, the landscape will become even more vibrant and the waterfalls more spectacular.
Overall, Tamhini Ghat is a must-visit, especially just after the monsoon season starts, when it transforms into an even more magical and beautiful place.
